English

In English we will be using the story The Jungle Book by Rudyard Kipling. We will be exploring our understanding of narrative by sequencing and retelling the story. We will be developing our independent writing working on those capital letters, finger spaces and full stops. 

Maths

We will begin by developing our vocabulary around position and movement. Then we will move onto multiplication and beginning to understand our times tables. 

Science

We will be looking at plants and thinking about plants. This includes what they need and the different parts of plants. We will look at different seeds and the difference between deciduous and evergreen plants. 

Geography

In Geography we will be exploring the world. We will start with the seven continents and learn a handy rhyme to hep us remember them. Then we will move onto the five oceans and a focus on the equator and the poles. Then we will learn all about land masses and a detailed look at Europe.

Art

We will have an artist focus on Hogarth and his painting titled The Graham Children. We will revisit all of the skills we have learnt in art so far such as the use of line and colour mixing. We will finish with a recreation of Hogarths painting.

PSHE

We will have a focus on our personal safety. We will start with naming our external body parts. Then thinking about the things we do in and out of school and how we can keep ourselves safe. 

PE

This will be back to Friday and we will be practicing our ball skills.
