School Meals

ABM are our catering company providing exciting and fresh meals for our pupils. ABM in partnership with the St John’s have introduced their “Grow” brand to create an exciting and warm environment . Additionally, we will be introducing a Soil Associated Food for Life Silver standard menu that will be produced on site and is specifically adapted to meet the needs of our pupils.


ABM will launch new menus offering popular recognised traditional dishes both meat and vegetarian, jacket potatoes with a choice of three fillings, cold deli with a choice of four fillings and an extensive salad bar with specified recipes using fresh ingredients.


This will be available throughout each lunch service taking into consideration the use of local foods and seasonal fresh selections.

Criteria For Free School Meals


You are eligible if you are in receipt of the following:

  • Income Support;
  • Income Based Job Seekers Allowance;
  • Income Related Employment and Support Allowance;
  • Child Tax Credit, as long as you do not get Working Tax Credit and whose annual income (as assessed by HM Revenue & Customs) does not exceed £16,190;
  • Support under part VI of the Immigration & Asylum Act 1999;
  • Guarantee element of State Pension Credit;
  • Universal Credit (with an annual take home pay of no more than £7,400, as assessed by earnings from up to three of your most recent assessment periods).

All pupils in Reception, year 1 and year 2 are entitled to a free school meal under the government’s Universal Infant Free School Meal scheme.
